Training types
Tell the five training types apart: the settings each one adds, when default training of each type is due, and where the types appear on other screens.
Management AZ sorts training topics into five types: Introductive, Occupational, Periodic, Additional and Organisation-specific. Each has its own page under Training in the menu; see Training topic pages at a glance.
A topic takes the type of the page on which you select Add Topic; the dialog has no field for the type, and the type decides which extra settings it shows. For the whole process, see How training works.
Settings of each type
Every type has Training topic, Details, Language and Context. The extra settings differ:
| Training type | Extra settings in the dialog |
|---|---|
| Introductive | Timing, required: Before start date, On the first day, Within the first week, Within the first month or During the probation period. |
| Occupational | None. Topics are kept per occupation code; see Find the training topics for an occupation. |
| Periodic | Scheduling type, required, with the fields that go with your choice: Times and Period for Frequency (times per period); Every and Unit for Interval (every N units); Months for Recurring months. |
| Additional | Trigger category and Training scope (Everyone or Selected occupations only), both required; Selected occupations, the occupation codes for a limited scope; and an optional Triggers list of events. |
| Organisation-specific | None. |
These settings cannot be changed later: Edit changes only the title, the details and the language. For other settings, add a new topic and archive the old one. The new topic starts as Inactive and without learning content; the old topic's lessons are not copied.
When default training is due
For training from the platform's default training, the type decides when a training is due, and Employee AZ shows each such training that is due on the employee's Training cards, with Due and a date, or No deadline.
| Training type | When it is due |
|---|---|
| Introductive | Once, until completed. The deadline counts from the start date of the employee's active contract: Before start date and On the first day give that date, Within the first week adds 7 days, Within the first month 30 and During the probation period 90. Without a contract start date there is no deadline. |
| Occupational | Once, until completed, with no deadline. |
| Periodic | Until first completed, then again whenever the next date of its schedule, counted from the last completion, has passed. A schedule set as a number of times per period is treated as once per period. |
| Additional | It does not become due: the product does not act on the events ticked under Triggers. The Additional page and its Add Topic dialog warn about this: Additional topics are not assigned to employees automatically yet. |
Signatures on the training record
The type decides which column of the individual training record the employer and the OHS provider fill; see How training works. Training sign-offs shows yours under Your column on the record. To sign as the employer, see Sign off completed training.
The types on other screens
The Annual training schedule, under Training in the menu and linked from the Documents page, covers periodic training only: active periodic topics from the platform's default training whose schedule uses Recurring months, grouped by month. Topics on your own Periodic page are not included.
In Employee AZ, Introductive and Occupational training carry other labels. For training from the platform's default training, employees see them on the Training cards and as the title of the list of lessons:
| In Management AZ | Card on Training | List of lessons |
|---|---|---|
| Introductive training | General introductory training | General introductory training |
| Occupational training | On-the-job training | On-the-job training |
In the Romanian interface of Employee AZ, the two card labels are shown in English, and the list of lessons for occupational training has the same title as in Management AZ.
