How-to guide
Reject a completed training
Record, with a reason, that the employer is not signing a completed training yet, then sign it or change the reason later.
Use this when a completed training is waiting for the employer's signature but should not be signed yet. A rejection does not remove anything: the training stays in your list, marked as rejected, and the employee's and the OHS provider's signatures are not changed.
Before you start
- Anyone who can sign for the employer can also reject, and confirms in the same way by typing their full name. See Sign off completed training.
- To check the training before you decide, open the employee's individual training record with the document button in the Training record column.
- Your rejection and its reason are written in your column of the employee's individual training record, so write the reason as it should appear there.
Reject one or more trainings
-
In the menu, under Health & Safety, select Training sign-offs.
-
Tick the checkbox at the start of each training you want to reject. The checkbox in the table header ticks every row that is currently listed. There is no reject button on the row itself: Reject selected becomes available once a row is ticked.
-
Select Reject selected. The dialog Reject training opens. Selected trainings: shows how many trainings the rejection will be recorded for.
-
In Full name, type your name exactly as it is shown in bold after Type your name as it appears on your account: Capital letters and extra spaces do not matter; the letters themselves must match.
-
In Reason for rejecting, explain why the training is not being signed. Keep it short: the record shows only the first 120 characters. The same reason is recorded for every selected training.
The reason is recorded on the employee's individual training record. -
Select Reject. To leave without rejecting, select Cancel.
The page reloads and confirms how many rejections were recorded. You can reject up to 200 trainings in one go; with more ticked, nothing is recorded. Each training is recorded separately: if some cannot be rejected, the page names up to five of them with the reason, and the others are still recorded. These messages speak of signing even when you rejected.
If the name you typed does not match the name on your account, nothing is recorded and the reason you wrote is not kept. Copy a long reason before you select Reject. For every other message, see If you cannot sign a training.
Check the number after Selected trainings: before you select Reject. A row stays ticked when a search or a filter hides it, and also after you select its Sign button and then Cancel.
After you reject
- The training stays in the list and is counted under the Rejected filter above the table. Select it to list only rejected trainings.
- In Signatures, Employer shows a cross. Hover over it to read the reason.
- Under the topic, the row shows You rejected it: followed by the reason. The line reads this way even when a colleague recorded the rejection; the page does not show who rejected the training.
- Your rejection and its reason are recorded in your column of the employee's individual training record, and an update of the record is requested, as after a signature.
Sign it or change the reason later
A rejection is not final. When the issue is resolved, select Sign on the rejected row and sign it as described in Sign off completed training.
To change the reason, reject the training again. The new reason replaces the earlier one. Once the employer has signed a training, it can no longer be rejected.
