How-to guide
Follow your employees' training progress
See how far each employee has got with each training topic, how each assessment attempt scored against the pass mark, and where each signature stands.
The Sessions page brings your organisation's training records together in three tabs: your employees' training sessions, their assessment attempts and the signatures on completed training. Use it to find out who still has something to do. It only displays records: nothing on it can be changed.
See who has started and who has finished
-
In the menu, under Health & Safety, open Training and, under Delivery, select Sessions. The page opens on the Learning Sessions tab, with Training above its title. The number beside each tab is how many rows it lists.
-
Read the rows. Each row is one employee's session for one training topic. Progress shows the percentage done, with the items done out of the total underneath.
-
Read Status: Not started, In progress, Completed or Expired. A session is Completed once the employee has finished it.
-
To see more about a session, select the eye button in the Actions column (its tooltip reads View details). In the panel, Assessment reads Passed once every assessment in the topic is passed. It also reads Not passed while an assessment has not been taken yet, so use the Assessment Attempts tab to see who passed or failed.
-
Select Close to return to the list.
See who passed the assessment
-
Select the Assessment Attempts tab. Each row is one sitting of an assessment, under the topic title with its attempt number. A topic can have an assessment in more than one lesson; each lesson's sittings are numbered from 1, and the row does not name the lesson.
-
Read Score: the score as a percentage, with the pass mark underneath after pass at.
-
Read Result: Passed, Failed, or Pending while no result has been recorded.
See where the signatures stand
-
Select the Approvals tab. Once a session is completed, it has three rows here, one per party: Employee sign-off, Employer sign-off and OHS provider sign-off. The parties can sign in any order.
-
Read Status: Pending means that party has not signed or rejected yet, Approved that it has signed, and Rejected that it has rejected the training.
-
To see why a training was rejected, select the eye button on the row (its tooltip reads View decision). The reason is under Decision notes.
-
Select Close to return to the list.
This page only shows the signatures. To sign or reject the employer's part, use Training sign-offs: see how to sign off completed training and how to reject a completed training.
Find an employee or a topic
-
In Search, type part of a topic title or of an employee's name. Names are listed surname first, so type one part of the name, such as the surname.
-
To list only one state, choose it in Status. On the Assessment Attempts tab you can also choose Passed or Failed in Result.
-
Select Apply, or press Enter in Search. The list changes only then.
-
To clear the search and the filters on the current tab, select Reset.
Good to know
- Each tab lists at most 250 rows and has no further pages, so a count of 250 can mean there are more. Use Search or Status to narrow a long list. The page looks through at most 1,000 records of each kind, so in a very large organisation a search can miss some.
- Selecting another tab clears the search and the filters. While a search or a status is applied, the numbers beside the other tabs count only the rows that match it, so they can drop to 0.
- A row that shows Topic name unavailable or Employee name unavailable is still listed; the title or the name could not be looked up for it. Use the other columns to identify it.
- A notice above the tabs, Some session records could not be loaded. Sections that could not be read show a dash instead of a count. Please try again., means that some records could not be read. A tab that shows a dash instead of a number is one of them, and its empty list does not mean that there are no records. Reload the page after a short while.
