How-to guide

Find the training topics for an occupation

Choose an occupation code by browsing the classification level by level or by searching it, then open the list of your organisation's training topics for that code.

Occupational training topics are kept per occupation code, so Occupational in the training menu opens a selection page instead of a list of topics. You can choose a code at any level of the occupation classification, from a major group down to a single occupation.

Choose a code level by level

  1. In the menu, under Health & Safety, open Training and select Occupational. The page Occupational training opens. The four cards at the top describe the classifications available and the one in use; they are for information only and do not filter anything.

  2. In Jurisdiction, choose the jurisdiction whose occupation classification you want to use. Only jurisdictions that have a classification are listed. When a jurisdiction has more than one, the number of classifications follows its name in brackets.

  3. If a Classification list appears, choose the classification to browse. When the jurisdiction has only one, its code and name are shown instead.

  4. Choose a value in Major group. The next list unlocks; a list that is still locked shows Choose the level above.

  5. Continue with the lists below it, for example Major subgroup, Minor group, Base group and Occupation, as far as you need, or stop at any level. The number of lists depends on the classification. Changing a level clears the levels below it. The first option of a list, which starts with All, clears that level.

  6. Check the line under the lists, which shows the code and name chosen at each level, then select See training topics. The button shows the code of the deepest level you chose, and the list of topics for that code opens.

Search by code or job title

  1. With the right jurisdiction selected in Jurisdiction, type the first digits of a code or words from a job title in Search by code or job title.... Shortly after you stop typing, the results appear, each with its level, code and name.

  2. Select Topics on a result to open the list of topics for that code. To see where the code sits first, select Browse instead: the results close, the code and the levels above it fill the lists, and you continue with See training topics.

  3. To close the results without choosing, select the X button at the top of the results, whose tooltip is Close search.

The search looks only in the classification selected on the page. A code matches when it starts with what you typed; a job title matches when it contains every word you typed, in any order. Capital letters do not matter; letters with diacritics must be typed as the classification writes them.

At most 30 results are shown, code matches first. If yours is missing, type more of the code or more words; if nothing matches, use fewer words. Changing the jurisdiction, the classification or a level clears the search.

After the list opens

  • The list shows the topics your organisation has added under this exact code. Topics added under a group above it are not listed here; choose the group's own code to see them.
  • The list covers one jurisdiction. The button in its toolbar whose tooltip is Jurisdiction shows its name.
  • No topics found means that no topic is listed under this code for that jurisdiction; archived topics are counted too. If the table says No items match your search or filters. although you have not searched, every topic under this code is archived; select the Archived card to see them.
  • The page is titled with the code and the name of the occupation. If the name cannot be found, the title reads Occupation …, with the code in place of the ellipsis.
  • Above the title, Training is followed by Occupational. Select Occupational to go back to the selection page and choose another code.
  • For the cards, the toolbar and what you can do with each topic, see the training topics page.

If no code can be chosen

If Jurisdiction cannot be changed and shows No classification available, and the page says No occupation classification for this jurisdiction yet, no occupation classification could be loaded, so no code can be chosen. The hint under that message refers to a tool that is not part of Management AZ; a classification cannot be added from this page.

If the page says that the classification has no codes yet, no codes could be shown for it. Choose another jurisdiction in Jurisdiction; codes cannot be added from this page.
