How-to guide
Complete a training topic
Start a topic from your To do list, work through its materials and assessments, and finish with your typed name, which signs your part of the training.
Your training is on the Training page. Each piece of training is a topic, such as a periodic safety training. A topic has one or more learning materials, and a material can end with an assessment. The topic is complete once you have finished every material and passed every assessment. This guide follows one topic from your list to the end.
Before you start
- To start a topic, or to start it again, you need exactly one active employment contract with your employer. With none, or with more than one, the topic does not start; see If something goes wrong.
- Materials are shown in your training language. Training can be published in up to seven languages; see Choose your language.
- You confirm some steps by typing your full name, exactly as it is on your Employee AZ account, with the same capital letters and spaces. Typing it on the last step of a topic signs your part of the training.
- Your progress is saved after each material, so you can stop and come back later, on any device.
Find the topic on your To do list
-
In the menu, under Health & Safety, select Training. The page opens on the To do tab. The other tabs are Coming up and Completed.
-
Each card is one topic, with its training type, how far you have got and its deadline. Overdue and expired topics come first, then the others by deadline, then topics with No deadline. A deadline reads Due today, Due with a date, or Overdue since a date.
A card marked Assigned by your employer is training your employer opened for you outside your usual list, such as additional training.
-
Select Start on the card, or Continue if you have already begun. If your last session of the topic expired, the card says when, and the button reads Start again. The topic's materials open.
You can also start or continue a topic from My tasks on Home; see Your Home page and readiness score.
Work through the materials
Learning materials lists every material of the topic, with its Status: Not started, In progress, Assessment pending (you finished the material but have not passed its assessment yet), Not passed with the number of your last attempt, or Completed. You can take the materials in any order.
-
Select Complete training on a material. It opens part by part. When the material has one, an estimate of how long it takes is shown after Estimated duration: under its title.
-
Read each part, then select Continue. Select Back to go back a part. Where a part has a recording, you can play it under Listen; a video plays in the page.
-
On the last part, select Finish this material. What happens next depends on the material:
- A material with an assessment asks you to confirm that you have read and understood it. Select Confirm and the assessment opens.
- A material without an assessment asks for your name. Type it in Full name and select Confirm. You are taken back to the list of materials.
To leave without finishing, select Cancel.
Confirm stays unavailable until the name you type matches your account's name exactly. While what you have typed does not match, the dialog shows Sorry, you did not write the name correctly in the field above.
Back on the list, a finished material shows Review, which opens it again. A material waiting for its assessment shows Complete the assessment, or Retake assessment after an attempt that did not pass.
Your employer may record in Management AZ that it delivered some of a topic's materials to you in person. Such a material is marked on your list as delivered in person, with who delivered it and when. If it has an assessment, you still take that yourself. Before you type your name, the dialog then says Your employer recorded that it delivered some or all of this training to you in person. Sign only if you attended.
Take the assessment
-
The questions come one at a time. Choose an answer, or type it when the question asks for a written answer. When a question says Select all that apply, tick every answer that is right.
-
Select Continue for the next question, or Back to change an earlier answer.
-
On the last question, select Submit answers. Every question needs an answer: if one has none, the assessment goes back to it.
-
In the dialog Submit assessment, type your name in Full name and select Confirm. Your answers are marked straight away and Assessment result opens.
Read your result
The result says Passed or Failed, with your score, the pass mark of this assessment, the number of this attempt and how many answers were Correct and Incorrect out of the Questions. It does not show which answers were wrong. The pass mark is set for each assessment, so it can differ from one topic to another.
- Your result is saved. Continue with the next material. Other materials are still to do. Select Back to materials.
- Your result is saved. That was the last step: the training is complete. Select See the completed training.
- The pass mark was not reached. Review the training material, then attempt the assessment again. Select Repeat the training to go through the material again, or Repeat the assessment to try again straight away. Only your latest attempt counts.
When the topic is complete
The topic's materials page then says Training complete, with Check signatures in To sign and Back to Training. The topic leaves To do and appears on Completed with its result and its certificate; see Your training certificates.
A completed training has three signatures: Employee (you), Employer and OHS provider. The name you typed on the step that completed the topic is your signature, so your part is usually signed already. Your employer and the OHS provider sign afterwards, in any order.
- If your signature is still missing, for example because your employer recorded the last material as delivered in person, the training is listed on To do under Training sign-offs, Waiting for your signature. Select Sign in To sign and sign it there; see Sign what is waiting in To sign.
- If your employer or the OHS provider does not sign it, the training is listed under Sent back with a note with their reason. The reason usually says what to repeat; ask your employer if it is unclear.
- If your employer is in Romania, the training is also entered on your Individual training record (fișa individuală de instruire), the Romanian record of your training and its signatures. It exists only for employers in Romania.
- Periodic training comes round again. Coming up lists the date each one is Next due, and the topic moves back to To do up to 30 days before its certificate ends.
If something goes wrong
- Training cannot start until one active employment contract is available. Your employer's records show no active employment contract for you, or more than one, and a new topic starts under your one active contract. Ask your employer to check your contracts. A topic you have already begun can still be continued.
- Your training identity is incomplete. Ask your employer to review the invitation. Your account is missing part of what links it to your employee record, and only your employer can complete it.
- Training could not be started. Please try again. Try again in a moment.
- Training is temporarily unavailable Your list could not be loaded, which does not mean that nothing is due. Select Try again, or come back later. When the list really is empty, it says No training is currently due.
- Materials are not available The topic has no materials published in your training language. Your progress is kept. Choose another training language (see Choose your language), or ask your manager to arrange materials in yours.
- Not on your required list The topic is no longer on your required list. Your progress is kept, and you can still finish it.
- This session expired This session can no longer be continued. What you did stays on record. Go back to Training and select Start again on the topic.
- This assessment page expired. Review your answers and submit again. The assessment was opened again after you started it, for example in another tab. Check your answers on this page and submit again.
- Your assessment result was saved, but overall progress is taking longer to update. Your answers and your result are saved, so do not take the assessment again because of this message. The topic's progress is brought up to date the next time you finish a material or an assessment of the topic. If that was the topic's last step and it still does not show as complete, ask your employer.
- If the name you type is never accepted, ask your employer which name your account holds.
