How-to guide

Choose your language

Choose the language of your training and emails once for every device, change the language of the screens, and see which languages each one comes in.

Two settings decide which language you see in Employee AZ. The language menu changes the screens. Your choice under Settings › Language decides the language of your training, and the language emails from Safety AZ are written in.

  • The language menu is in the account menu. It changes only the screens, and only in the browser on the device where you use it.
  • Your choice under Language is kept on your account, so your training follows it on every device you sign in on.

Which languages you can choose

The screens come in ten languages. Training materials can be written in, or translated into, seven of them. Emails are written in English and Romanian only.

Language Screens Training Emails written in
EnglishYesYesEnglish
RomanianYesYesRomanian
FrenchYesYesEnglish
GermanYesYesEnglish
ItalianYesYesEnglish
DutchYesYesEnglish
SpanishYesYesEnglish

Mandarin ChineseYesNoEnglish
JapaneseYesNoEnglish
  • A Yes under Training means training can be published in that language. Whether a particular training is available in it depends on whether its materials were written in that language or translated into it.
  • The last column is the language emails from Safety AZ are written in when you choose that language under Language.
  • No training is published in Korean, Mandarin Chinese or Japanese. If you read the screens in one of them, choose one of the seven training languages under Language and keep the screens as they are (see below).

Choose the language of your training and emails

  1. Open the account menu: select your name, or Your account, at the bottom of the side menu. Then select Settings.

  2. Under Language, select Language for training and emails. Under it you can already see your current choice, or Not chosen: follows the language you sign in with.

  3. Under Choose a language, select a language. Each language is named in itself, with its name in the language of the screens under it.

  4. Leave Show the screens in this language on this device too ticked to switch the screens on this device as well. Untick it to keep the screens in the language they are in now.

  5. Select Save language.

The page confirms the change, and Training and emails names the language you chose. Training you open from now on uses it. On a device where you are already signed in, your training switches after you next sign in there, or once you open Settings › Language there.

Go back to the language you sign in with

Until you choose a language, your training follows the language you sign in with. The page shows which language that is now, under Follow the language I sign in with. To go back to it, select Follow the language I sign in with and then Save language.

Change only the screens

  1. Open the account menu at the bottom of the side menu.

  2. Open the language menu, which shows the language the screens are in now, and choose a language.

The page reloads in that language. As the Language page itself says: The language menu changes only the screens, on the device you use it on. Your training and emails keep the language chosen under Language.

The language of your emails

  • Safety AZ writes its emails in English and Romanian only. If you choose Romanian, emails are written in Romanian. If you choose any other language, your training follows it but emails are written in English.
  • If you have not chosen a language, emails are written in Romanian when your organisation is in Romania, and in English everywhere else.

If a training is not in your language

When a training's materials are not published in your language, its page in Training says Materials are not available. Your session and your progress are kept. Choose another of the seven training languages under Language, or ask your manager to arrange the materials in your language. For the rest of the training steps, see Complete a training topic.

If your language is not saved

When a save fails, nothing is changed and the language you picked stays selected, so you can try again.

  • Choose one of the languages listed. No language was selected. Select one and save again.
  • Your language could not be saved right now. Nothing was changed; please try again. Your account could not be reached. Try again in a few minutes.
  • Your language could not be saved for this account. Nothing was changed. Your sign-in is not allowed to change this setting. Ask your manager or HR.
  • Your current choice could not be loaded right now. Your current choice could not be read, so no language is marked. You can still choose one and save it.
